The View

I know I've got a ways to go before this is done.
Any suggestions or directions I might take would
be appreciated. The Borg seems lonely so I hope
this gives us something to talk about. Fire away!

This is a painting correct? What are it's dimentions? The photo is hard to read. Don't you have that kick ass digital camera? Try taking a photo of it in the sunlight.

It does seem nostalgic. What are they looking for? Reminds me of a road trip. Stopping off for the view. Dont' understand the orange everything. Is the boys hair orange too? It does add an oddness to it.

Glad to see you back. The borg had slowed down because Shostopa wasn't around.

Lucky and Ken have been slugging away at it, or at least weekly.

I quit adding as much. Same reasons as before. I still check back every other day or so though to see if anyone had added anything.

That's great you are painting. I'd like to see a better photo, and more paintings. Thanks for sharing.

skin tones are great though, and I really like the atmospheric type lighting from the landscape they are looking at.

Proportionately the man's foot seems too small. And the face of the man looks like you a bit.

What's the story behind it?

I really like where you are with this. The diagonal break across the picture works; the heavy green trees on the left, the airy open sky and mountains to the right . . . I've been looking at some old family photos lately, and posted a few on flickr. Is that what this is for you?

Yes. This is taken from an old photo. Sorry about the bad pic. I'm not sure about the orange either. I feel like the underpainting is done and now it's time to refine it. I do look like my dad and that's me he's holding. I'll take a closer look at the foot. Thanks for the feed<.

I like the orange. It does give it an odd quality though. Keep it.

Orange is very retro. Perfect for such a nostalgic painting.

You would like the skin tones.

I LEARNED IT FROM YOU!
